A semi-precious stone (3.5 to 4 Mohs). African artists from the D.R.Congo create hand carved animals, coffee table boxes and beautiful solid stone tables from the Malachite. Malachite is also used for jewelry . It is recognised by it opaque emerald green banded mineral colour.
